The perfect beach for the watersports enthusiast with numerous activities, including jet skiing, parasailing, kayaking, and catamaran sailing. A roped off area is provided to ensure your safety and comfort while swimming. The northern end of the beach contains shallow reefs where snorkelers can spot colourful tropical fish and other marine life. The Heron Bay, a magnificent coral stone house sitting on the beachfront, has hosted many famous guests, including former US President Bill Clinton, former British Prime Minister Sir Winston Churchill, and several movie stars.
Follow the crest of the wave as it crashes against the open rock face. This is the rough water of the Atlantic Ocean. Situated on the East Coast of the island, Bathsheba boasts a stunning, dramatic landscape. Every year, Bathsheba is the location of a large surfing festival that attracts contestants from all over the world.
Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous has previously lauded this beach as, "One of the ten best beaches in the world." One visit here and you will see that it more than lives up to this moniker. Tucked in the shadow of a spectacular cliff and protected by a coral reef, the Crane beach is ideal for swimming. Powder white sand and water in every shade of blue make this a 'must do' on any vacation list.
The prestigious West Coast of Barbados is also home to some of the best beaches on the island. Situated on the doorstep of the opulent Sandy Lane Hotel, this beach is synonymous with paradise. The water is not only ideal for swimming; you will more often than not find numerous watersports available. A short walk up the coast and you will also discover the best turtle watching spot on the island at Folkestone Underwater Park.
The South Coast of the island is always buzzing with activity. Accra Beach is the spot to see and be seen. Adjacent to the shore is a collection of kiosks selling everything from brightly coloured sarongs and souvenirs to Bajan food like fishcakes and Banks beer.
